On many occasions when I introduce myself as a personal chef, I am asked “What exactly does a personal chef do? Catering?” or,  “Are you a private chef for a family or an individual?”

Well, actually, I’m neither a caterer nor a private chef. However, I do prepare meals for families and individuals in their homes & I am hired by individuals to “cater” dinner parties and special occasions in their homes for up to 100 guests.  So let me explain further.

As a personal chef I plan, shop, prepare & package customized meals in your home. I prepare the meals to you and your family’s personal taste and dietary needs. I use all of my own equipment and leave you with up to two weeks worth of meals. I charge a fee plus groceries. It’s that simple!

On many occasions, I am asked to cater special events in private homes such as birthday parties, anniversary parties, large and small dinner parties, family reunions, rehearsal dinners and much more. I’ve prepared a romantic dinner for two and a “post wedding” brunch for 90 guests. I’ll give you more specifics on some of the parties that I’ve done in my next blog post. Ciao for now!
